Following Ian Livingstone’s “Life Is A Game” presentation on Monday, Sheffield’s “Off The Shelf” book festival are continuing their support of the science-fiction, fantasy and horror genres with a writing workshop this Saturday.

The genres of horror, science fiction and fantasy are incredibly popular, offering writers opportunities to examine themes impossible in conventional literature. Paul Kane and Marie O’Regan will be presenting a specialist workshop introducing these genres to new writers.

Paul Kane is an award-winning writer, author of several best-selling books including the Arrowhead trilogy, with his book The Hellraiser Films and Their Legacy is considered by many as one of the best books examining the Hellraiser franchise. Paul’s website www.shadowwriter.co.uk has featured guest writers such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

Marie O’Regan is a British Fantasy Award-nominated author and editor. Her work includes Hellbound Hearts and the Mammoth Book of Body Horror which she co-edited with her husband Paul. Marie’s writing has also appeared in The Dark Side and Rue Morgue magazines.

Paul Kane and Marie O’Regan’s workshop will take place at 2.00pm on Saturday 20th October in the Jackson Room at Sheffield’s Central Library on Surrey Street, Sheffield S1.
