For the Halo fans out there – and I understand there are a few – live-action web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn will be shown as lead-in to the release of Halo 4.

In 2525, a group of cadets are training to fight against human insurrectionists at a prestigious military academy. One of these cadets, Thomas Laskey, doubts his abilities as a soldier and his convictions for this war. While he struggles with himself, the planet is invaded by an unknown alien race.

Almost $10 million has been spent on developing the series, and it shows, with the live-action elements blending well with the CGI. The first episode of Forward Unto Dawn has started flashing out the series, and I hope this continues in the coming episodes.

This five-part series has been written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, and directed by Stewart Hendler. The first part is already available, with subsequent four episodes airing on 12th October, 19th October, 26th October, and 2nd November.
