OneMetal.com NEWS:
Korn Sign To Roadrunner Records, Premiere New Track

California-based, multi-platinum selling nu-metal act Korn have signed to Roadrunner Records, and are preparing to release their ninth full-length album, Korn III: Remember Who You Are. The album was produced by Ross Robinson, a producer synonymous with the 90s nu-metal movement, who also produced Korn’s groundbreaking first two albums, 1994′s Korn and 1996′s Life Is Peachy.

The band have had their share of ups and downs in recent years -- from the departure of original guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch in 2005 due apparently to his newfound Christian faith being incompatible with Korn’s touring lifestyle, followed by the departure of original drummer David Silveria in 2007 -- the same year the band released the critically and commercially underwhelming Untitled.

Despite diminishing returns both musical and commercial, Korn have remained a popular and vital live band, and according to bassist Fieldy, the new album heralds a return to the quality of the early days:

We called this record Korn III — Remember Who You Are because it really feels like a return to that attitude we had on the first two records. And when it came to putting this record out, we could not think of anyone better to help us than Roadrunner, the only label that even understands rock music anymore.

The band recently released the video for a new song, “My Time”, taken from the upcoming album -- check it out below:

So, what do you folks reckon -- will Korn be able to turn around their dwindling fortunes with their ninth album? Is it time for them to hang up the low-slung 7-string custom Ibanezes? Let us know what you think in the comments.

    Lee Turner says:

That`s pretty fuckin` awful- granted it still has the Korn “sound” productionwise but the song itself sucks!!!
They`ve not been the same since Head left and in fact his solo album “save me from myself” sounds more like classic Korn than Korn do!!!
