For those of you who missed the vehicle missions in Mass Effect 2 – and there really can’t be that many, the Mako tank / crawler / thing in the original was horrible – will be pleased to hear that the free Firewalker DLC pack brings vehicle missions with the new and shiny Hammerhead hovertank. Having taken the thing out for a spin, I can confirm:

• It’s a tank.
• It hovers
• It blows stuff up.

The missions with the tank are pretty good fun, and they’re definitely more entertaining than the Mako sections in the first game. They’re probably not enough of a reason to go for a brand-new playthrough of the game, but if you haven’t finished yet, or were planning on giving it another go, it’s definitely worth the download.

The Firewalker DLC adds five new missions, new weapons and costumes, and the Hammerhead. It’s available now for free on Xbox 360 and PC, providing you have a Cerberus Network login.
