OneMetal.com NEWS:
Black Metal meets… Nude Photography?

You may not have heard of Jeremy Saffer, but there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen some of his photographs. Behemoth, Bleeding Through, Dimmu Borgir and Bring Me The Horizon are just a few of the bands this metal-loving lensman has snapped over his extensive career. In 2009, he published his first book of photography, Bring The Noise -- a 120-page hardcover collection featuring 156 band images spanning Saffer’s whole career, including exclusive, never-before-published photographs. For his next project, however, Saffer has focused on one particular genre of metal above all others. In his own words:

For those who know me or follow my work, I work mostly with bands, and dabble in some fine-art photography, and being that black metal has had the longest tenure as my favorite genre in metal, it made sense to some how cross the paths of my work.

Saffer continues:

I am shooting this project in a few ways. I am shooting fine-art and fashion style nude images with corpse paint — very elegant, standard poses…but also shooting very metal/creepy poses — so there’s a good mix of traditional and non-traditional posing for both genres.

In addition to the Corpse Paint project, Saffer also recently started a behind-the-shoot video series, including the “Behind The Shoot Of Behemoth”, which is embedded below.
