Left 4 Dead 2 Body Count Revealed!

Earlier today Valve released a game statistic for Left 4 Dead 2. However, this was not the usual boring sales statistic, but the total number of zombies slaughtered so far!

The game was released last November and since then players have destroyed 28,981,249,043 (and counting) infected! That’s Twenty Eight Billion!!

In comparison to real life… The estimated total number of humans that have ever lived is put at just over 100 billion! As of 11th Feb 2010 the population of Earth was estimanted at 6,802,000,000. So Left4Dead 2 players are well on their way to wiping out the entire history of the human race and have already eliminated the world’s population in infected almost 5 times over! And that’s not including the zombie kill count in Left 4 Dead 1.

For those of you actually interested in sales, the number of pre-release sales were 4 times greater than Left 4 Dead. More than 2 million retailed copied were sold in 2 weeks from the release date and over 1,300,000 were sold on Steam.

Zombie kill counters… what an awesome move!
